ITOCHU RECRUITING

Frequently asked questions.

Is selection affected by whether applicants have a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or Doctorate?
ITOCHU implements selection based on personality and the type of degree you have does not affect selection.
I would like to know more about the recruitment and career advancement of women at ITOCHU.
We recruit based on personality, regardless of gender, and have female employees working in all our division companies and Headquarters' administrative divisions. As competition intensifies, we see the active recruitment of talented human resources regardless of age, gender and nationality as an important management issue and have been focusing on the diversification of human resources since 2003. Consequently, we have been quick to develop child care and nursing care systems that go beyond legal requirements. We currently provide support which takes the individual circumstances of female employees into consideration including operating a childcare center on our premises to help employees balance work with private commitments such as childcare and nursing care, providing support for overseas assignments, and preparing individual career plans.
Will the number of visits I make to alumni of my university working for ITOCHU (so called OB/OG visits) affect my selection?
Whether or not you make visits to alumni of your university working for ITOCHU or the number of ITOCHU employees you have met will have no bearing whatsoever on your selection. Some of our employees joined us without making any so-called OB/OG visits. However, OB/OG visits are a useful tool through which graduates understand and are won over by our corporate culture and decide to join and work for us.
Do you ever recruit through the recruiter system, etc.?
We never use the recruiter system for selection.
Do you recruit persons with disabilities?

ITOCHU does not have a recruitment process specifically for persons with disabilities though we do accept applications regardless of whether or not applicants have disabilities. ITOCHU Uneedus Co., Ltd., a special subsidiary of ITOCHU engaged in the recruitment of persons with disabilities, can be contacted via the link below if you are interested.

What is the process for determining the departments to which applicants are assigned?
We determine the departments to which applicants are assigned based on the aptitudes and wishes of individuals with informal job offers learned through interviews conducted in October and January after informal job offers are made.
