Why did you join ITOCHU?

When I thought about the job that would allow me to shine, I felt ITOCHU was the perfect environment

When I was looking for a job and seriously thought about what "working" meant for me, I realized that my preferred style of working is a job which allows me to shine and utilize my strengths. Looking back at myself up to that point, I realized I was more suited to a workstyle whereby I utilize my strengths behind the scenes, supporting managerial career track employees in a administrative role, as opposed to the managerial career track which would have me flying around the world and working on the front line. Another reason for choosing my current occupation is that I thought an administrative role without transfers would make it easier to achieve and maintain a work-life balance whilst pursuing a career in the long run. Having set the work style parameters that were important for me in this way, I then looked for a company, and given that at a trading company, even in an administrative role, I would be involved in all different kinds of business and gain extensive experience and given that ITOCHU was rapidly taking on new challenges compared with other trading companies and so their administrative staff would also be required to use their own discretion and act independently, I felt strongly that ITOCHU would be a more rewarding place to work than anywhere else and decided to join.

What are you mindful of in your work?

The first step in the creation process is to develop impressive and moving creatives based on trust built up through communication

Since 2018, I have been involved as project manager in the production of the company presentation video which is used during the medium-term management plan period (3 years).
This video is used at the General Meeting of Shareholders, exhibitions and so on and is a very important tool for communicating widely to people both inside and outside the company the "current status" and "future direction" of the company. To develop the creatives which will increase the company's brand power through such initiatives, supervision of the production company and collaboration with various professionals such as camera operators and the director are essential.
To do work on an equal footing with such professionals, you can't be hesitant about expressing your own opinions. Properly communicating the idea of the company as ITOCHU's representative, whilst understanding the other person's thoughts, this kind of close communication is more important that anything.
What's more, the Corporate Communications Division cannot do its work without the cooperation of those working in other parts of the company such as sales staff and frontline staff. I work hard to be able to build relationships of trust with our constantly busy front-line staff through a great deal of communication, so that they understand the importance and direction of this project.

What is your vision for the future?

To drive new initiatives as an ambassador for the development of ITOCHU's fan base

I go about my work every day with the desire to act as an ambassador promoting the charm of ITOCHU and disseminating information about ITOCHU, aiming to get people inside and outside the company to better understand and become attached to ITOCHU through knowledge of the company's various systems and initiatives.
Since 2020, I have been in charge of planning and producing creatives such as videos, websites, PR and PR brochures as part of an organization which implements corporate branding measures that will help enhance corporate value called the Corporate Brand Initiative. This means that, through constant trial and error, I implement new initiatives that will help enhance corporate value, seeking to increase ITOCHU fans both inside and outside the company.
